Circuits, fields and waves are what my degree is built from, so A-Level Physics is something I use rather than something I remember. These are the questions parents usually ask before we start.
Which A-Level Physics exam boards do you cover?
I tutor A-Level Physics across AQA, Edexcel and OCR, including both OCR specifications: Physics A and Physics B (Advancing Physics). Every session follows your child's exact specification, so we practise the question styles and mark schemes for their board.
Can you help with the maths in A-Level Physics?
Yes, and it's often where the marks are going. Whichever board your child sits, at least 40% of the marks need maths at Higher tier GCSE standard or above. We practise rearranging, logarithms, graphs and uncertainties inside real physics questions, so the maths stops getting in the way of the physics.
Do you cover the practical questions in the A-Level Physics exams?
Yes. The practical endorsement is assessed by your child's teachers and reported separately from the grade, so that part stays with the school. What I cover is the practical questions in the written papers, which do count and make up at least 15% of the marks: planning an experiment, handling uncertainties, and analysing data and graphs.
Is the first session really free?
Yes, completely. There's no commitment either. We look at the topics your child finds hardest and decide together whether it's a good fit before anything further is booked.
How does payment work?
Sessions are £40 per hour, paid session by session. There's no contract and no joining fee, and if something comes up you can message me before the lesson and we'll move it to another slot.
